Wasn't he the first team coach? He coached the first team not the reserves or u18.

Not even that.

Olsson was a first teamer before Kean's arrival - having started strongly under Ince and then Allardyce.
Hoilett was in the main picture from the moment he got his work permit, again, before Kean arrived.
As for Jones, he was touted as being the next big thing the season before his debut, he was on the fringes of joining the first team from the end of the season before Kean's arrival and I seriously doubt anyone was thinking of getting rid of him before Kean's interjection.
