He does have assists! 15 this season, along with 13 goals I think, I worked out he contributes directly to something like 0.64 goals a game, compared to 0.58 for David Silva.

Assists while are good don't always show if a player is creative. The final ball isn't always the creative part, sometimes a defence splitting pass that lets a player get into postion to put final ball in is more creative.

Exactly. Well put. Zidane had a very low assist count, but nobody could honestly say he wasn't creative, and Scholes has never had an incredibly high assist count.

Yeah but depending on what site you go on, some say he has less assists.
However i actually watch the German league and i know what type of player he is.
I am over the moon we are even linked with him, let alone seeming to be favourites he's brilliant.
And the price being mooted seems really really low (last year of contract i guess)

Modric has very poor goal and assist tallies for most of the seasons he's been at Spurs. Does that mean he's not creative?
I hope we get Kagawa! :D

Like i said, people look at stats on the net and don't see the bigger picture.
Modric is very creative, he just doesn't always play the final pass.
Like Scholes, he rarely plays the final pass but i dare someone to say he isn't creative.

Exactly my point! If Modric works a bit of magic in the midfield, gets the ball out wide to Lennon and he puts a cross in for a goal, then Lennon gets the credit, not Modric.
Not that Lennon can put a decent cross in of course but you get what I mean!

I sure do, but try explaining this to some people.
I've seen so many articles on here claiming Modric isn't creative.
I don't want us to sign him as i think he's vastly overpriced but he's an awesome player.

I only see the odd bit of the german league so i have to admit i dont know a great deal about him. But from what you are saying this is very promising and could have a real effect on the team!
