SKD-Sordell - Match Made In Heaven

I must admit after the crippling feeling after the game I never thought I would look forward to this season but...I already am. This reads kind of "pro-relegation," I assure you I'm not just (to quote a cliche) taking the positives.

The squad overhaul was badly needed. Doing this is the Championship will be so much easier and benificial to our youngsters. In the Prem' only about 2 youngsters would of been able to play a tangible part in the squad. This would of meant the rest of the empty spots would of been filled with new, mediocre squad players. However in the Championship it should be more like 4/5 with others able to play bit parts.

When I looked at our squad without all the release-ees, we actually have a top side for the Championship. Eagles does very well in that league with double digit goals. Pratley is very much a good player for the league and the rest of the squad will all be among the best. None more so then our strikeforce.

SKD I thought was done last season. He looked tired and couldn't dominate defenders like he used to. However after a rest he was a revelation scoring and creating like in his prime. In a less physically demanding league, players with no experience of marking him and a average lower quality of defender he could be a revelation. Just look how big men such as Lambert and Holt have dominated that League in the last 2 years.

Sordell although used sparingly this season is a top player in this league. Getting circa 20 goals a season before he was even 20! With him feeding off SKD flick ons and using his own skills we could have a lethal partnership that could fire our way back to the PL!

P.S I still think N'gog wouldn't score much in this league. COYWM

I agree especially about the youngsters, with the clear-out and number of opportunities we now have, our youngsters like Vela, Sordell, Eaves, Riley and Alonso can be trusted more in this league and hopefully give them the experience and preparation needed for the prem.

Now Klasnic is packing his bags Sordell must be given a chance...Feel sorry for the lad. He joins a prem team and a chance to show what he can do at the highest level and OC doesnt play him until the last half hour of the season. Ridiculous!

It will all come right for him when we are promoted at the end of next of next season.

off topic, but is this the first season where all 3 promoted teams have stayed up?

Notlob, us Blackburn and Fulham all came up together and until this season none of us had been relegated since we came up. The longest period and possibly the first time it happened?
