Shorey/Mattock - Full back situation

Both released from WBA today. We could try and snap at least one of them up? Though I do think they would want ridiculous wages so no doubt they will end up at another championship club whilst we slowly edge towards another season panicking about squad depth.

How much do you think Cunningham would be worth? I don't think City would want much for him and he was a safe pair of hands defensively yet needs to work on his offensive side (mainly crossing, a lot of his crosses never left the floor!)

As sad as I would be to see Gunter go as he is an extremely committed footballer and in my opinion has been very consistent, if a good offer comes in we will obviously accept freeing up the RB position for Freeman or Moloney. Use the Gunter money for a LB and CB, bring up Lascelles to the first team proper and we have a mid to low table back line. Not one that should be struggling with relegation.

Forest need to be smart this summer, by smart I mean they have to act quickly and not twiddle their thumbs waiting for players to become very cheap. It is time to be ruthless with our current crop, get as much money in as possible and put faith in our youth or look to the lower leagues and rebuild. Personally I think this will be good for the club, it will put less pressure on us financially and a lot of the players we will ship out have failed with us over three seasons so the mentality within the squad should change (it felt wrong this season).
