Judging by what happened at the end of last season, and the rumblings coming from Modric prior to Euro 2012. In my opinion, I think Luka is as good as gone. I am just hoping the saga does not drag on and we do business at 40 million plus.
“I will make the decision where to continue my career. I’m ready for the big tests." - Modric
If he does go to Manchester City, I do hope we include Milner and Johnson as part of the deal. Milner is a fantastic box to box central midfielder, he can also play either wing, and has a good assist and goal ratio (a lot better than Modric's infact whilst he was at Villa!). However, if we do not get Modric, then I think the perfect replacement will be Nuri Sahin. He has not had a look in at Real this year, is still young, and would cost no more than 6-8 million.
Modders likely gonners...

Adolf, the last few years, we have seen the Berbatov saga drag on, last year Modric didn't even go and as Harry admitted it affected our pre-season preparations. His head is obviously turned, he hasn't had the best of seasons, although his recent goals will convince the fickle. I'd rather not go through with this every season, and buy two world class players instead.

Adolf, when he is gone after the Euros, then come back here and admit you were wrong. He is as good as gone, only a matter of time. Mark my words

The only person who will decide where Modric will continue his career is Darth Levy, not the player himself. He is under contract for 4 more seasons.
That quote was from the Daily Mirror, so 90% certain to be made up.
