Okay, so FSG appease the fans by bringing in an ex player - legend for the club, and fan favourite - doesn't work out - so they sack him - fans (mostly) none too happy.
The fans cry out for Benitez - FSG bow to us again - bring him in. Say it doesn't work out yet again - they (will) sack him. They are bringing on more ill feeling from the fans and may face a backlash, for another past hero has been dumped by the owners.
Would FSG really put themselves in this position again??
This is going to be a fresh start I'm sure of it - the way they have gone about this seems as though they have said "okay, we've given you what you wanted - it hasn't worked - let's try a new direction"
Why it wont be Rafa

I have a nasty feeling you may be right, Mr. Rat.

This could be either the biggest revolution of our famous club or a slow meltdown.
I'm scared.

FSG should know the next manager before Kenny left imo.
There are a lot of bad managers out there and not many great ones. I like Martinez as a person, but not sure he is strong enough for this kind of pressure job.

Re. Martinez would you have entertained the idea of him as manager around Christmas? With the wonderful form Wigan were in?
Given the short termist view why not chase Pardew hes had one good season and theres only 2 years left on his contract.
