As Dalglish has gone... I want Rodgers. I love the football the ambition and the achievement so far.
Please no Martinez! Unprogressive. That's as far as my thoughts have gone so far... any one feel the same?
Bit gutted to see the King leave though... it was too bad really
I want Brendan Rodgers

liverpool don't have the players to play attractive football

Achievement? What achievement? It's Martinez that created the brand of play Rodgers uses at Swansea when he was there.

Never, too inexperienced to handle the immense pressure the Anfield job entails.
Same goes for Martinez, Lambert and any other of that ilk.
Has to be a proven entity on the big stage capable of attracting europes finest.

How does a young, aspiring manager get in a position to prove themselves? Someone has to take a gamble on them eventually.

Yes they do need a chance but not with us thank you very much

It's always better than train your own manager if you want a "young" manager. Otherwise anyone else needs to have a proven record at the top to have the trust of fans and players.

Having watched Reading a few times whilst Rodgers was at the club, I do not want him anywhere near the managers position at Liverpool!
He is doing well at the moment, but as honest said, Martinez was the one who started the way Swansea play. All Rodgers has done is continue it, rather than play his own brand (as he failed at with Reading).
Both Lambert and Rodgers have done very well this season but so did Coyle last season (look what happened there). Next season will be the real acid test for both of them.
I do think that Lambert will have a very long and successful career in management, but it is a little too early for us.
Whoever the manager is I will support him 100%, as long as he is nothing like Roy (the football he wanted us to play, slagging off players, etc)
FSG have made a mistake in letting Kenny go as the saying goes 'Rome wasn't built in a day' (or season in this instance). The football we were playing in most games was great, but the results sadly did not reflect the play. The players that were signed are starting to look like they had finally settled, and now they have to do it all over again with a new man and coaching staff.
FSG will not go for Rafa after all his public arguing with H&G (righlty or wrongly). AVB was not given a chance at Chelsea (player power and trigger finger Roman) and if FSG are prepared to give him time (no top 4 this coming season), then I think he could do well. Hopefully he will have learnt from the mistakes he made at Chelsea (high line on the defence etc) and be a better coach for it.
Personally I want Rafa, as he should never have been sacked in the first place. Yeah ok so he made mistakes, but who doesn't? As he has been out of management for a year he will hopefully have had time to evaluate his errors and not repeat them (after all we all know how much of a thinker he is).

Sometimes a manager arrives at the right club at the right time
Rogers & Lambert have no experience of managing a relatively big club let alone Liverpool. They are probably at the right clubs for them for now
You get rid of a manager that has won 6 trophies in 6 full seasons as a manager to replace him with someone that has won nothing
At the time I commented to several Rafa bashers that they should be careful what they wished for
Roy was a disaster, buying Koncheschy & Poulsen seriously suggesting they'd be suitable Liverpool players
Kenny cleared out a lot of dead wood and invested top dollar in young talent. Yes overpaying for some but the brand of football changed completely from the dross under Roy. At the same time he won one trophy and could of easily had 2 in the cabinet
FSG have panicked, as serious investors they should have known to be a little patient to build long term success
The only logical candidate actually is Rafa who suffered under the previous regime and was our most successful manager since....Kenny!

Fowler, Absolutetruth.
Spot on -
It makes no difference who the new manager is. If he's not afforded time and patience the morons at FSG will sack him and we'll be back to square one (again)
