why is everyone so narrow minded

about alex song?
from last season he's been bombing forward (and with good effect this season) and our players who'd keep position would keep back like arteta or wilshere

even though he does get caught out sometimes he does properly run back which is still a bit of a rarity in our midfield.

also if he had stayed back all the time we deff would have scored less goals. even though rvp was on the end of them which means as good as song's passes were, those are the kind of aerial passes you'll see made in a kick about only for the player recieving the ball to mess up, some of the goals rvp got off song were proper half chances

however howcomes no one else stepped up to offer these amazing assists? and a lot of these assist song have made haven't been in games where with won a billion nil, they've been in games where we've been knocking on the door and we've needed that extra bit of class to scrape a win by a goal

leeds, liverpool, dortmund and everton are perfect examples

arsenal are not a run of the mill team
song is not a run of the mill defensive midfielder

his pros more than outweigh his cons but if you just want him to just sit back, tackle and use no skill go and support spurs and go on about how parker deserved to be in all these team of the year selections

Song, played alongside a actual DM is a great midfield pairing. That is why we must buy in someone like M'Vila, we don't have this type of player at the club at the moment.

We then have Song/Wilshere/Arteta/Rosicky/Diaby/Ramsey all vying for 2 places in the centre which is great depth and great competition.

Song's contributions this season are the difference between finishing 6th and finishing 3rd. Alongside RVP, Arteta and Koscielny he has been one of our most important players - people seem to forget that.

I went to the Leeds game in January, my first for over a year, and it really struck me how much Song has improved. Before that the last time I saw him in the flesh he looked a bit too hasty and not too tactically astute, but now he's far more composed and has developed a great eye for a pass.

On the other hand, it also struck me how lazy Arshavin has become, you hear about it all the time on ja606 but you don't really notice it on Match Of The Day; but against Leeds he was a real disappointment.
