Newcastle United have reluctantly given permission to Liverpool to speak to LMA Manager of the Year Alan Pardew. Despite efforts to resist the advances of their rivals following the shock dismissal of Kenny Dalglish yesterday the Magpies hierarchy have decided to allow the Reds to talk to Pardew after he requested permission to discuss terms.
Pardew has enjoyed a hugely successful season with Newcastle, narrowly missing out on a top four finish. Reds owners Fenway Sports Group have been impressed at his ability to purchase high quality players for low prices and feel that he could be the man to drive their club forward in search of a return to Champions League football. The news will come as a huge disappointment to Newcastle fans who have developed a great rapport with the former West Ham man since seeing an incredible rise in their team's fortunes.
