So Crouch moves away to play games so he can get into the Euro Squad. Defoe stays and warms the Spurs bench. Although Crouch was pretty much forced out it does go to show that being a substitute for a Top 4 team is better for your international career than actually playing matches.
He must be gutted!!!
Poor Crouch!!

I disagree. Crouch was a regular starter for Spurs but still couldnt get in the Englanf squad - even with his 22 in 42 games record.

1. crouch didnt move in order to enhance his england chances. he wanted to stay at spurs but we didnt want him.
2. defoe did not stay at spurs to sit on the bench. he stayed to fight for a regular starting place. even though he didnt get this, whenever he did play he was excellent, and i believe was our highest scorer in all competitions this season in spite of hardly ever starting.

Crouch didn't want to be a part of the squad apparently for the same reason Carrick didn't. Fed up with being a bit part player. Terrible attitude IMO.

dont know where you got that from Batmanu. the club and the player said at the time that he had wanted to stay.
dont see the carrick comparison as valid at all. carrick went to man united for goodness sake. he moved to win more silverware at club level.

It's Rob,
Ade just pipped Defoe with 18 goals plays 17. Six of Defoe's came in cup comps (EL = 3, FA Cup = 3), but i get your drift.
