This is what annoys me - that when it comes to selling, Derby always seem to have their pants down and the buying club is in the position to negotiate the deal.

Hulse, Commons, Green and the situation with Davies is the same. As a club we should look to get players to renew their contracts with 18 months left and if it's stalemate, sell or exchange for equal value.

Sorry, I'll rephrase that, for all those who regularly attend games........

I'm not sure the 'getting players to renew their contracts with 18 months remaining' applies in the Steve Davies situation - no-one in their right mind would have offered him a contract six months ago.

Before his fractured skull setback, Steve had continually oscillated between 'injured' and 'recovering from injury - should be fit in a few weeks' for pretty well his entire time at Derby.

Three months being fit changes little - even if he did bag a few goals.
