McGeady tells Roy Keane to to shut it

AIDEN McGEADY last night lashed out at Roy Keane and rapped: “He has an opinion on everything."

Keane and his ex-Ireland team-mate Andy Townsend both criticised the Spartak Moscow winger at the weekend and suggested Sunderland sensation James McClean should take his place at Euro 2012.

Keane claimed McGeady ‘has threatened to become a top, top player but hasn’t pulled up trees and needs to do more’.

Townsend said: “It’s a toss of a coin whether he turns up or whether he doesn’t."

McGeady hit back and blasted: “They are entitled to their opinion, that’s fair enough, that’s football.

“Roy Keane, he says enough anyway. I played with him at Celtic and that was bad enough!

“He is just one of those guys who has something to say about everything.

“I got on with him as a guy but he has an opinion on everything."

Mcgeady is right Keane has an opioion on everything ( I guess its his job in one way now) but on this occasion I believe Keane is right in his opinion

So who would u start?

Personally for me Id go with the inform player in Mclean with the more experienced player of Duff on the other wing. I think its one position Trap can play around with in terms of who plays with out upsetting his system and tactics.

Btw its great to have real good options on the wings and players on the bench who can change the games but I really hope Trap gives these players time from the bench likes 20-30 mins and not under 10mins as he does alot with his subs

But who would you pick Mcgeady or McLean?

I'm quite happy for big James to start on the bench, if he then does well enough that he can't be left out of the starting line up then that's magic for Ireland.

Under Trap's system James is more competing with Duffer for a place anyway and I read the other day that Trap wants to take a look at him playing from the right and cutting in, which could be interesting given that Sunderland always play him as an out and out left winger.

I'd have McGeady ahead of McClean, apart from a bad spell in Feb/March of this year Mcgeadys been great in Russia and I would say he is much more the in form player than McClean!!

McClean is a good option from the bench.

How much of McGeady have Keane & Townsend in the past 12/18 months?

Who knows really but since they both work in football i say more than most of us. But Mcgeady did spend abit of time on the bench in Russia in the last few months
