His words not mine
"I have also got my career to think about. I don’t want to be at this level for much longer.
“I’ve made my stance with the chairman – he knows what I’m looking for. I want to be the best manager and I want to be challenged. I want to be in the Premier League one day. I hoped it would be with this club, and I’m sure it will be there one day.
“I will never forget my roots and the club which has given me my first opportunity, and I’ll never forget that.
“I need to have a meeting with the chairman before I can say anything else. I want to be at the club but we need to get things sorted behind the scenes."
And on top of that Watford and Milwall appear to be sniffing around Deano - if Karl goes, then I expect a fair few players to follow suit - Lewi and Gleeson, but probably more
Still we now have a part time stiker coach and a new assistant manager
Rumour mill starts - will Karl be with us?

I would bet Pete has indicated that he would not stand in the way if a bigger club came knocking on Karls door.
Hull are still looking - and did ok in the championship - but not sure its attractive as a set up seeing what happened to Barnby.
But Bill I disagree in terms of what Karl has achieved - yes no silverware - but the team are a much much better side than the one at the end of the Ince (part 2) era. And I think a much better side to last seasons.
But it needs more players - a mixture of I think 3 permanent signings - and then the loanees - if he can get the same sort of quality as the current squad (but must have a really good goal scorer) then we would be a really serious contender for an auto playoff in the coming season.
As it stands now I see other clubs around us all strenghtening their squads and we have done nothing.
“I will never forget my roots and the club which has given me my first opportunity, and I’ll never forget that." - that sounds like he has checked out to me

Karl should be careful that he doesnt do an Ince and run before he can walk. Ince is now unemployable as a manager because he thought he was better than he was. Realistically I think Karl is looking for a bit of money to push on for automatic thic time. I hope he stays but no one is irreplacable.........

I agree it is an improvement on the Ince 2nd era, but if you look at the stats there is virtually no dfference between the 2010/2011 & 2011/2012.
MK Dons home form this season was worst than last (41 points this against 47 points the previous season)
In fact, the only real difference is that the team drew a lot more games away this season.
They finished up in exactly the same position (and were knocked out of the playoffs at the same stage),

I think that Robinson is doing the right thing. He does need backing from Winkleman on the transfer front and he needs it NOW.
With all the new rules coming in from the football league who knows what they will come up with next. It could be that money given by owners is NOT allowed in the not to distant future.
He was asked to do a job last season with one hand tied behind his back and he almost succeded, With the PROPER backing of Wincleman (and not just words) he would stand a chance next year of auto promotion.
Stick to your guns Robinson and lets see what Wincleman is made of.

It's next season that is a must for Dons! Not only is it an 'easier' division, but we NEED to push on!
But forget the Dons side of this I think Robinson is accepting too much positive feedback and is beginning to think he is better than he is!
YES he's a great managerial prospect but is he ready now!? No! Remember when Phil Parkinson was a great prospect? He's now at Bradford struggling to get them up the table! I think Robinson needs to spend a good few years at this level before jumping up the League's and possibly failing and then being stuck for where to go!
I don't hold a move against him, entitled to do what he likes but imo he's nowhere near ready to take over a Championship club YET!
I compare this to AVB. He had a great relationship with his players at Porto, great fan support and was paying some of the best stuff in Europe, instantly got a lot of praise and expectation on his shoulders was huge when he signed for Chelsea (Which I thought was a good move) and it was clearly too early in his career to take on a job of that sort! He's now seen by a majority of people in this country as a tactically inept manager, an embarrassment and 'lucky' in his previous success' at Porto! When he's not, he just tried too many things too quickly and took it on too quickly before he was Champions League experienced!
So to sum it up, Robinson needs to play in the Championship with a team like us before taking over a club pushing for the Premiership! Because the pressure at this level is enough, so the pressure at the Championship will be far more stressful!

- PS at my other point I forgot to include that Robbo is nearly 32? 32! WHY push yourself so quickly?
If he looks back on his career in 20 years knowing he left Dons too early and his managerial career took a massive turn he'll highly regret it! There's no rush for him personally to get to the highest level! He has about 30 years left of a career!

I am not sure how much money Winkie has I suspect its not a lot.
Robinson is putting his cards on the table which he is entitled to do, Southampton paid a lot of money out for players a few years back and are now in the Premiership.
We cant rely on loans and freebies, we have sold a few players but havent spent any of that money.

Southampton had more money than us though! We can't spend cash we don't have

and they generate more on a weekly - we can only count on a gate of around 8,000 - Both Shefields and Huddersfield much higher, as was Charlton - it will take us a long time to be generating that sort of revenue - but if we want to get there, there needs to be an injection to at least get a few more players

I don't know, I go away with Robbo is staying and come back with Robbo might go.
I like Robbo and hope he stays, but I am more sanguine now we have Harford and Wright, who can step up to the plate. That's not to demean anything Robbo has done, but we have a natural progression if he does leave.
I don't believe in public ultimatums, any discussions should be behind close doors. I agree with Moocamp we need another couple of players as long as we can afford them long term, although Matt Doumbe and George Baldock should be available after missing most of last season, while Chadders was injured in the 2nd half of the season.
They say a manager needs a promotion on his CV. I also think Robbo needs to do better against fellow challengers to prove he is the better manager, even if they have more money and a bigger squad.
Next season will show if he, the players and the club, are the real deal or just a contender.
