Lofthouse memorial garden...

its a nice thought, but would have just preferred a statue outside the stadium like most 'normal' clubs would do.

why do we have to take everything to far?

I mean its not going to be as easy to view it and worse - I can see it becoming a quagmire of mud due to people running across on matchdays - I myself usually run across the road near scotts bar on matchdays and up that grassy slope to the ground. I will respect the statue and its garden, I have a feeling some fans wont, especially away supporters...

Im with you Trig. A nice big bronze statue to honor a legend like every club does. A memorial garden may not get the respect off certain fans coming to and from the station

From the drawings on the website it looks as if you can't run across it - especially if it drops down from grassy slope bit to memorial garden.

Looks a good idea to me.

I think it's a great idea. Our greatest ever player, fan etc. having a garden aswell as a statue is the fuss he deserves. And no-one will run across it IMO, it's positioned next to the car park near the hotel entrance, and if there's loads of flowers wtc people won't trample on them for sake of 7 seconds IMO. If they do, there will be thousands of bwfc fans right next to it who will have something to say.

It's different from every other clubs tribute to their most respected players and managers, I like the idea very much and look forward to seeing it when it's finally in place.

I would also think that fans from other clubs will respect both the garden and the statue. would any fan from our club disrespect a statue at any other club? I would hope not.

A bit girly if you ask me for a bloke that started down Mosley Common pit humping coal.

Statues are supposed to be tactile things that you can get up close to and imagine that they're still there.

They've obviously raised too much cash and the decent thing to do would be to give it to an appropriate charity where it can be used for something useful.

I love the idea and can't wait to see it.

Surely, a bigger, better statue would have been the logical way to use up any extra cash (if that's what they're tryin' to spend). Or/and use any extra money to remove that trashy meaningless object from the roundabout near the ground, and let Nat's statue be the one and only (deserving) monument in the vicinity.....
