Yeah, by the time the windows over there will have been double the Ozil/Sneijder ones.
Having said that Captain P done 90% of the Sneijder articles.

I thought the transfer window opened up as soon as the season finishes?

Pre-season window = End of Season – 31 August
Mid-season window = 1 January – 31 January

Oh god this happens every season.

If you'd read a bit more of the wiki page you sourced you'll see that in England the transfer window formally opens on 1 July, but transfers between clubs in the same association (i.e. not Hazard or Kagawa) can take place as soon as the last competitive fixtures for the season have been played. However, many transfers will not be completed until 1 July because many players' contracts expire on 30 June.
