Blackburn, Bolton, Villa, are all living way above their means which could spell trouble ahead.
The usual suspects of City & Chelsea of course are way off the scale with their wages v income. If they were operating as a publicly quoted company they would be perceived as trading insolvently and automatically entered into receivership!
If Chelsea did not have Abramovich then they would most certainly have gone into administration back in 2004, they then had debts exceeding £80m with debtors circling the club like vultures.
City are similar & the problem they have is satisfying FFP when it is introduced.
This could for instance suit Spurs in negotiations for Adebayor. City want him & his wages off the books by the end of June. So the likelyhood is that they will write off most of his value to encourage him to leave. This in turn would allow us to pay Adebayor a signing on fee of say £5m with wages of around £100k a week.
