Given his past history, could we accept him. I think if we are playing with the one up front, with the two wide attackers (call it 4-5-1 or 4-3-3, I don't care), he could do the job.
The only formation to get the best out of VDV is with three in the middle. I would not be unhappy with those three being Thudd, Sandro and VDV. Modric can do one if he wants.
I had always felt that fitting both Modric and VDV compromised us a little.

Back on topic then, who can play the one up we need. I don't think anyone we have been linked too can do it.

I'm actually not a wum (typical wum response i know!) and relating to the article IMO you need someone who can pass the ball better than ade to get your flying wingers off and running!

Not too fussed about the laying off of the ball, VDV can create, just want a front man to terrorise the opposition, be a bit direct, but better than PAV.
Thing with PAV is, can score like he did agains Birmingham and air shot the very next minute.

After his celebration for city against arsenal I actually kind of liked him, so I would be very happy to sign him
And plus he's about 7 foot tall so maybe we could get rid of crush this summer
