This is reported in the Daily Mail and from a few decent Twitter sources.
Not suprised they turned that down. I really hope we are not going to do what we did with ALF where we just offer peanuts and let someone else (Leicester) snap him from under our feet.
People keep saying that this is just MM way of testing the water etc. Well, that sounds fair enought but it contradicts our theory that MM and DJ will keep their targets close to their chests to stop others getting any ideas and sparking a bidding war. Why bid with a ridiculous price like that to 'test the water'? Surely it will only turn heads around elsewhere?

Poite,he is not proven above L1 level so £350k is not a bad bid, they either have had a better bid from an established championship club or at his age they are seeing if he comes good.

Thats what they said when Adam Lefondre came on the field and tore you lot a new ring piece!

£350k is a good price for a untested young player, he may fall at a higher level against in the main what will be proper tried and tested pros, not many clubs will pay that kind of money to take a chance, think about it ?

oh and I forgot, Rhodes, to hillsborough if they loose play off

Not many clubs will, I agree, but that indicates that a few will and I think that for once we should be one of them.
We paid £350k for O'Grady who had never kicked a ball for us! How can a key promotion player like Antonio only be valued at the same price???

.....yea that must make him a great player coming on to play a team that had played for over 1 hr with 10 men, billy paynter has done that vs 11 men in championship but he also looks good on L1(29 gls).do not pin your hope on Antonio being good enough for championship.there is a reason alf is a bench warmer .

While I agree he is untested at Championship level, 350k seems low to me. I hope we don't wait around to improve the offer, lets get him signed and move to the next target!!
owler, if we are offering 350k for Antonio there is no way we will match the 4m + that Hudds would want for Rhodes!! He is under contract so they don't have to sell him and a mid to lower Prem team will come in with silly wages being offered!! Not a chance imo!!

Antonio is worth double the bid, and Rhodes isn't coming to Hillsborough
