Now that the French Open is soon upon us, let's take this opportunity to cheer and enjoy every step of the way as Rafa Nadal MAKES HISTORY.
Let's make no bones about this, nobody has ever won 7 FOs since after 1925, ( Max Decugis won 8 after the turn of the 20th century, but only the Frogs could play in the event at that time,) and there have been some great clay court masters over the years. Borg, Courier, Kuerten, Willander and several others.
Rafa Nadal is of course the very best and will pick up his 11th Grandslam Title whilst he MAKES HISTORY.
Soft balls, hard balls, mince pies, cornish pasties, the organisers can choose what the heck they like, he will win.
Slow court, fast court, his supreme physical condition and powerful way of playing tennis will blow everybody away.
Good luck to the rest and I hope that they remember that coming second is better than coming third. First place is not available this year or even for the next 3 years in Paris.
Rafa Nadal is the man, and HISTORY WILL BE MADE.
Any derogatory remarks towards this player will be deleted. You can go on any of the other tennis threads and join in with that. That is basically all that is written so I thought that on here we could read something different.
The King of Clay, Roger and our Andy.

So then, the 2 semi finals are over and to be honest Djokovic is going to get absolutely murdered in the final
Vamos Rafa.
Federer is finished and shocking that he lost in straight sets against a guy like Djokovic who was also very poor.
I am going to enjoy this final

Chesty, hope I am not too late to wish you a happy birthday
Not sure what to make about the Federer vs Djokovic match. Neither player played well and I think it was just a case of Novak played slightly less badly. Shame as I think everyone was really looking forward to it. Wonder if they felt the pressure to perform to the standard of last year's semi.
What can you say about Rafa? He was superb today and made a very good player in Ferrer look ordinary.
One more match Rafa. Make it a great one.

Oh boy watching Rafa thrash Ferrer was great but I did feel a bit sorry for Ferrer!

Ronald. I am so glad that boring robot like serbian is in the final.
As a big Feds fan I accept that he is finished now at the highest level.
Watching the "Dull" moonballer who only plays defensively and boringly whilst he is smashing his forehand and backhand winners all over the court is going to be a right laugh.
BRING IT ON. It's his destiny. 7 French Opens, and counting

Go RAFA Go. In 3 nuclear sets to demolish for good Djoko.

Do you guys really think Rafa will win in straights? I would be surprised if he does. Djokovic is in a different class altogether compared to all previous Rafa's opponents. I guess Rafa does have to be the favorite given how he steamrolled through everyone but Novak is getting better and he will be pumped for the final. I would expect a closer match.

Chesty, time to toast the 7 time Roland Garros champion
You were right from the start, this was Rafa's title all along (although I was a little jittery yesterday when Novak staged that comeback in the 3rd!).
Congratulations to Rafa, the undisputed King of Clay.
Congratulation to Novak on getting to his first RG final and I am sure it won't be his last.
And thanks to you Chesty, it's been fun chatting to you this tournament

Many thanks for the kind words Tennisfan and likewise. Thank god I can find some posters on here who enjoy tennis and take it a little bit more lightheartedly
Isn't it wonderful seeing Rafas name pop up 7 times in the record books and his slam count moves to 11.
I did not see the set today but was thoroughly entertained by the swing in fortunes yesterday. A great match and it ended with the KING OF CLAY being crowned
Need to find some dessert after that masala now lol

Chesty, Eurosport Intnl are repeating it as I write. Currently end of 3rd set so if you have Eurosport you can catch the 4th there.
What are you having for dessert?

You do nothing other than impress me all the time
Dessert will be simple but effective if you like strawberry, chocolate and vanilla icecream and fruit cocktail ( from the tin) lol
Now I will go and watch this fourth set
