JRod

It would appear that JRod is Southampton bound for a fee reported to be 7 million. That represents a great return on a player who came through the youth system. Cameron Howieson has just become our youngest ever international, making his debut for New Zealand's senior side recently.
With the current investment in our youth system and FA academy status from next season, will this be the way forward for the club? With the 7 million from JRod we could sign at least three good championship players, that could be just what we need to sustain a play off push next season.
Also the club has appointed co-chairmen in the shape of Mike Garlick and John Banaszkiewicz not, as feared, Brendan Flood. Both are successful businessmen and, more importantly, Burnley Fans.
The future looks bright as I see it.

Thought I would buck the trend and write an article about Burnley FC on the Burnley board, bit radical but there you go.

Hi Wrexham, Bit weird having a sensible Claret related posting on our Board but I will hopefully be able to post a reply before Starrover does.

JRod. Obviously dont want him to go but needs must. think 7 mill is a fair price. The key is how much of the 7 mill will Barlick ( our new chairmen) give Eddie to spend. Clearly our squad even with JRod is well understrength if we are to compete in The Champs.

Long term, our future is clearly in developing our own young players. JRod is a perfect example.

As for Messrs Barlick, I admit I know very little about them except they are both Clarets and successful businessmen. Without a doubt they are a much better option than Mr Flood or Venkys. Time will tell.

As for next season, It is totally dependent on who EH signs and how early he can get the new signings on board. I know he wants them in soon and that must be right. Heres hoping.

My early forecast for next season is mid table in what I think will be a tough league. I think Bolton will go close and Rovers might struggle if nothing changes at Ewood. Sheff Wed and Charlton will be ok but Huddersfield will find it tough. At least we have a lot of derbies to look forward too and the Euros.

At last, thought it was going to stay there forever. Maybe you lot could sell Kean to the same bloke, he likes inanimate objects with no practical value.
