I honestly believe that they could put out a better 11 than a combined GB and Ireland one.
Howard
Onyewu Gonzalez Bocanegra
Bradley Johnson
Donovan Holden Shea
Altidore Dempsey
That team is much better than England's. The USA has a team much better than England's. My days, how times have changed.
USA have a more than decent team right now.

Holden is pretty good
Howard is good.
And Donovan.
The remainder are average or I've never seen em. Tells you something.

Don't et me wrong, they aren't going to be winning world cups or anything, but they've improved a lot since south africa. Where we were marginally better than them, but not enough to beat them. But I do completely believe that the USA are stronger than us right now. Hopefully that will change by the time Brazil 2014 comes round and our team is built around Wilshere, Cleverley, Smalling, Walker and co.

I have watched them in their last few internationals and they have looked a far better team than England.
They had a great result against Italy, and tanked Scotland the other night.
Yes I know tanking Scotland isn't hard, but it was the way they did it that was impressive.

Looking at the large demographic of the USA, their competitive spirit and the investment in sporting infrastructure it's only a matter of time before they are able to hold their own against top international sides.

...............
It tells me that football wise you are quite ignorant.

Individually we are better, but as a 'team' they aren't that bad

I'm not keen on this "individually x is better than y" idea. Football is an 11 vs 11 team sport, and 99% of the time the better team wins, either through superior technical ability and player understanding, or maybe through excellent team spirit and the ability to band together and get the result (I.e. Chelsea vs Barca/Bayern).
Individually, Ronaldo is better than Messi, in that if you stuck the two of them on a 5-aside pitch with a ball and a ref, and said "first to hit 100 goals is world player of the year", Ronaldo would win due to him being a far better natural athlete than Messi, his pace, strength and stamina would see him win comfortably.
But Messi in the Barcelona team is the most devastating player on earth. Comfortably too.
And in the team sport of football, USA are better than us, regardless of how good our "individuals" are.

But we're still able pronounce the game properly!

Bradley, Donovan and some of the defenders are good and I am looking forward to their Brazil game. They drew fair and square with us remember.
