Getting away from all the James Mcclean nonsense on the Irish boards thought I'd get back to football...
So pick your top three players from England Ireland NI Scotland and Wales
Here's mine:
Ireland: Roy keane, Liam Brady, Robbie keane
England: bobby Charlton, Alan shearer, Bryan robson
NI: George best, sammy mcilroy, Danny blanchflower
Scotland: Kenny dalglish, Dennis law, jinky Johnston
Wales: Ryan Giggs, Ian rush, Gary speed
Thought it'd be a nice change of pace from all the rubbish that tends to creep onto these boards.
Best three players...

Game of opinions and all that hard to choose no slight of big Paul but Robbie has achieved something that no other player in these islands has achieved

I think that Stanley Matthews should probably be on the list as well.

Nice article Mumbai
NI - Pat Jennings, Danny Blanchflower, George Best
Rep of Ireland - Paul McGrath, Liam Brady, Johnny Giles
England - Bobby Moore, Paul Gascoigne, Stanley Matthews
Scotland - Kenny Dalglish, Billy Bremner, Jim Baxter
Wales - Neville Southall, John Charles, Ian Rush
Scotland was probably the most difficult to select as they have had so many class players.

Tried to do this, but it really is very difficult, even for the smaller footballing countries of NI, ROI and Wales. Just shows you how many great players have been produced over the years, even by the minnows! Would have Jennings, Irvine, Crossan, Michael Hughes, McParland, Jimmy McIlroy, Jimmy Quinn all ahead of Sammy McIlroy(maybe you meant Jimmy rather than Sammy). As for ROI, Roy Keane was a great player but his behaviour at Saipan has to count against him. I would find a place for Paul McGrath and possibly Johnny Giles, Steve Highway and McAvoy.
