potential rodgers team

if aquilani goes then we have adam, henderson and shelvey to compete for a place on the bench. can't see adam having much a role under rodgers give the long balls that he likes to play. If joe cole goes then we could either promote shelvey or we could buy sigurdsson for £7million to play in that role. trouble is we'd have to buy sigurdsson pretty sharpish. that would leave us with a heck of a lot a centre midfielders. i'm not sure rodgers will just get rid of players like cole and aquilani before having a look at them first.

other signings:
NEW CB: Christian Zapata? (just been relegated with villareal somehow. we were also linked with him last summer.) rodgers may make a move for steven caulker from spurs. or just keep carra and have danny wilson as 5th centre half

NEW RW: Kalou for free? not too sure. Affelay also available for cheap from barcelona

NEW LW: Without a doubt we have to move for adam johnson. we all know how good he is. enlgish, can play on the right or the left and could be available for as little as £10million. city won't see us as a rival so why not!?

NEW CF: Fabio Borini maybe. has worked under rodgers before. he's had a decent season so roma would want to keep him i guess. basically anyone who is a good finisher more than anything else. john guidetti has had a great season for feyenoord on loan from man city. he might be interested if we go in for him. who knows? i wouldn't get anyone too high profile who wll demand a starting place as we already have two of those.
