If were playing Football Manager, this is what I'd attempt.
------------------------Reina------------------------
Johnson-----Skrtel------Agger-------Enrique
-----------------------Lucas-------------------------
----------Henderson-------Shelvey-------------
Suarez------------------------------------Muniain
-----------------------Carroll------------------------
==========================================
------------------------Doni------------------------
Kelly---------Coates-----Wilson-----Robinson
----------------------Banega------------------------
-----------Gerrard---------Aqualani--------------
Affelay------------------------------------Downing
---------------------Nilmar---------------------------
===============================================
Spare players fighting for the bench... Suso, Sterling, Bellamy, Carragher, Adam, Spearing
Sales - Aurelio, Maxi, Kuyt, Cole
Reckon thats pretty realistic, could be achieved on a transfer budget of £30-£50 Million. Players would fit into Rodgers 4-3-3 formation and style of play, and for me would pose a serious push for European football.
2012/2013 team, fingers crossed

Why isn't Nilmar ahead of Carroll? He's much better, attacks better, finishes better and would offer your side a lot more than Carroll. Also Banega would start for you.

Question:
How many minutes together have Lucas, Hendo & Shelvey played together? If its double figures I'd be suprised...

I was only showing 2 strings of teams using our squad, based on who I believe would play better together.

Obviously Gerrard and Aqualani would rival Henderson and Shelvey for first team spots, all teams need to rotate players to ensure they stay fresh and competitive for places.

You want Henderson and Shelvey to start ahead of Gerrard and Aquilani? And Carroll ahead of Nilmar? Not only are the three mentioned better players, they'd play better under the style of play I hope Rodgers will instil.
