Has Elsie fallen out with us ?

having just read an article by LC, it seems he's very happy here at Town, citing his great relationship with DH and the board...but doesn't mention anything about us fans...do you think he's feeling a bit unloved ?

A funny thing too over his contract, which he seems to have agreed but refuses to sign until all his backroom staff have agreed their contracts first. What's all that about...or am I just reading too much into these things here.?

I'll tell you what 38, I'm sure LC and the vast majority of fans would settle right now for 43 away points in the coming season, so lets give a little credit where it's due instead of continually knocking everything DH & LC are trying to achieve.

We missed out last year by the width of a Gnats c--k hair and most fans appreciated the efforts of everyone concerned with the club, except the few who thought that once Hoyle got involved that promotion was a nailed on certainty. Well 38, football doesn't work that way and unless you have a fair slice of luck to help you along the way, nothing is guaranteed.

Having said that, Hoyle stuck his neck out and bought the club and put his money where his mouth is and had every right to appoint whoever he wanted as his manager. For me LC was as good a choice as anyone and I believe he has done OK so far and shown year on year improvement which will hopefully end in promotion this season.

However, I've gone on record before stating that if we are not looking favourites at the half way stage, then I have no qualms should LC be fired, or retained if Hoyle decides to stand by him.

It's OK keep saying that LC has 2.5 years of failure behind him, but the knockers always fail to acknowledge any of his successes, which suggests that fans like you consider that most of the other 91 football league managers are rubbish, except the 10 which win the league or promotion for their clubs.

Funny you should mention the pay day thing, reading through Twitter today, and pilks thanked everyone at town and wished them all the best for the first pre season game today. Then lee Clark's son tweeted back "my dad says any thanks for him for making you a millionaire".

I think you'd have to admit LC has made progress, and don't forget where he was starting from..we were a mid table team when he arrived.

I just thought we'd progress a bit more quickly than 3 places a season...at this rate it's going to take 7 years to progress to the top end of the Championship, assuming we make it this time.

The news of the new players sounds promising though, so quiet optimism may be in order...

Hydy, all EPL player's are millionaires... the minute they sign a deal for an EPL club they're millionaires... the big, FAT, signing-on fee sees to that.

That's why players keep wanting to move clubs too... a nice big paycheck just for putting an X in the right place (and a football obv)

Lee Clark has made progress, but not enough progress.

The progress relative to the resources that he's had at his disposal should have been that we were runaway leaders and auto promotion.

But if you look at things honestly in the cold light of day you would have to say we took 2 paces forwards last season but in reality we took at least 5 paces backwards.

Let's be honest, the football we played was bloody awful. The worst football we've ever played, including relegation seasons. The fact we went 25 games unbeaten playing such dire football really is unbelievable.

We were massive over achievers in terms of league position. 25 games unbeaten my backside. We could have and should have lost half of them. We lost 9 games before Xmas was finished but we played miles better in that period up to Xmas......absolutely no doubt about that

So let's not let 3rd place, narrow defeat in the playoff final and 25 games unbeaten mask over the true fact that WE WERE ABSOLUTELY GARBAGE LAST SEASON.

mirfs annoyed because we were right and he was wrong..

hope to god its the other way round this season..

main problem i had was the football was terrible in quite a few games.. thats ok when you win and you can accept the odd shocking display that gets you 3 points.. it became unacceptable when the home draws became as bad as the away draws..
it had to follow that the players were fully aware of how bad and lucky they had been even footballers know, deep down, if they were sh-te or not...

I think the player's knew only too well how bad they were...

remember the horror show that was Town v Plymouth 2nd half? I think AK passed the ball out of play more in that 45 minutes than he ever managed to actually find a team-mate in the whole flaming season..

Last season we were rubbish, the football was horrid to watch; the defending was comical; midfield either turned up and ran the show or didn't bother coming out of the dressing room; our wingers chose to cut inside and shoot rather than cross the bloody ball and our strikers couldn't hit a barn door at ten paces with the exception of JR who couldn't last 90 minutes against an U10 side...

Let's face it though, if we can be soo bad (and we were) and still get 87 points, unbeaten in 27, best away record and all that then just think how much better we will be when we actually play football...

sidenote: is there a list of 'banned words'? I see nothing wrong with my original post and yet it allegedly contains a banned word.. that banned word? Dam .... (with an n )
