I'm personally unhappy about it. I wanted Gerrard to vent his fury at Henderson being selected, therefore damaging the kid's confidence, and that of the confidence his fellow teammates have in Gerrard's ability as a captain leading to a lack of team spirit ultimately destroying any glimmer of hope England had of doing well in the tournament.

Will he even get a game.

We get criticised for anything said by anybody at our club these days I swear.

We'll never know yet.

But one thing's for sure, he's got more of a chance than Carrick, Barry & Lampard.

Fred, no-one is criticising Gerrard. We are criticising the OP for being so impressed by Gerrard for saying nice things when asked about Henderson.

But I've seen so much criticism for Brendan Rodgers definitely not being the first choice candidate despite the club saying so

I said I was happy by it! Thought it was a nice touch! Or are not allowed to say anything positive about our club and players?

Tell you what, gerrard should have said he is awful, and is the worst footballer ever! Our owners are awful, our new manager is even worse! Better for you some of you?
