The sfa did not have the power to be selectived in preventing rangers signing players.
The sfa always had the power to stop rangers signing player, being suspended from the sfa prevented rangers from signing players in the spl.
The COS ruling in effect states the sfa have to impose the full ruling or none at all.
As rangers have been found guilty, you have to wonder how the sfa can avoid passing its original sentence with fifa watching.
Well done ally and co you have just killed your club and set scottish football back a further 10 years.
Keeping the matter within the sfa the worst thing that was going to happen
a slap on the wrists, but instead the play ground bullies had to get the police involved before offering to change their ways.
Way way too late, as for the myth of not knowing what was going on.
I have been reading posts about it on this and every othet forum for the last 5 years.
So how was it possible no one at rangers knew
cos ruling

As i said before nothing was really ever going to happen to Rangers as long as it was kept within Scotland.
The problem was as soon as Rangers were given concessions the more they demanded coming to realise the sfa and spl bark was never going to turn into a bite, in fact at one point it was ally and co who were threatening pay back to other members of the spl.
The bullie boy tactics of RFC were all very well until they started craping in fifa's mince, coming down on Rangers! this is a organisation that would not think twice about booting scottish football into touch let alone some insignificant team from the country. Mr green getting very angry with duff and duffer because of their actions in taking this to the COS, 3 weeks after the fact 3 hour after fifa made it clear rangers were never going to win and call the shoots when it came to football.
make no mistake by the start of next season the real damage done to rangers will have been done by rangers opening the door to fifa and uefa.
At the very least a 3 year ban from europe football will be the outcome of this as the sfa and spl ensure between them a 12 month ban on players transfer yet rangers playing at the top level.
Only outcome the sfa withdrawing RFC license and the spl allowing rangers to play without one. And that's only if fifa go easy
