What a
I know with him being a City representative and me being a United fan, I will be open to accusations of bias here. But this man is starting to rival Dave Whelan. He is never lost for something to say but rarely contributes anything useful or logical.
But his latest comments are ridiculous:
"I'm surprised when I see so many players pull out because of injuries. I don't understand. They don't want to go to big tournaments."
Is he really so stupid as to think players are feigning injury to avoid participating in a major international tournament? I am lost for words at this.

To be honest, I think he has a point. The number of players who can cope with long hard seasons (lampard & barry as examples) with their clubs who then get injured seemingly on the bus to training with the national team is ridiculous.

In fairness, Lampard had his fair share of injury problems this season. And a scan doesn't lie!

The difference is that international teams dont want to take any risks with players due to the limited number of places in the squad. If a player develops a minor injury that may put them out of the first two games, they will be sent home - the risk is just too big.
