Roy Hodgson has said that he left out Rio out of the England team due to footballing reasons. Now what reasons are they?
He doesn't have an injury, not that I know of.
He has been in form for us, he's been a consistent player for us this season, and has managed to play in most of the games he's been available for.
His only concern is his age, he is 33, and can he play in every game for England? Lampard and Gerrard are in their 30's, one has even been injured most of the season, they both got immediate call ups.
Maybe he can't, maybe he can, now considering Kelly was called up to be a bench player, Ferdinand can do that can't he? Sit on the bench for a few games and play when called upon?
Who is the more experienced player, Kelly or Rio.
Cahill is a CB, so naturally you'd want to replace him with a CB. Where does Kelly and Rio play?
Again, Roy Hodgson has said that he left Rio out for Footballing reasons, but what are they?
We all obviously know that really it is because of JT, and ok, fair enough, maybe he doesn't want to break up any harmony in the camp.
But why can't Roy just say so? Lack of respect.

Bats has a point.
The Euros is a cup competition.
Terry is a winner.
Rio is a loser.

So Cech, Ivanovic, Cole and Cahill/Luiz are also past it?
Great logic.

Nope, but Terry is an integral part of your defence that has been shambolic in the prem for the most part.
You actually play better without him in the team

What trophies did Rio help you win this season?
-----------------
What does that have to do with performances? JT wasn't even involved in your CL win so that makes your point redundant.
His inclusion in the side isn't helping the national team because it's keeping one of the best defenders out of the team.
Asking you to put aside club loyalties and appreciate this is clearly a waste of time

Your comment is stupid my friend. Richards shouldn't be on any back up list. He's better than Johnson and Jones. Johnson and Jones are back up players to him
=====================================
You miss the point.
You talk as though Kelly was selected over Richards, and call it disgraceful.
It got nothing to do with Kelly, Richards didn't want to be included in a back up list, so wasn't available for selection.
The argument about whether or not he should have been in the original 23, is a completely separate one.

Like the Napoli game? Manchester Utd game?
Both games where we conceded 3 goals without JT.

The fact that England defend deep should have made picking Rio a total no brainer.
As we speak Ferdinand is still the best defender in the country when playing in a deep back-line.
If England had played an attacking pressing style that's different (Rio would drop too deep for that style) but i'm sure they'll be largely a counter attacking side with a solid defensive shape.
Rio has every right to be angry.
Something no-one noticed was how well Rio played in the 1-0 loss at City, totally clamped City's forwards with his awareness, positioning and concentration, world-class but can't get into the England squad.

Rio was outstanding last season and played most games in the last 6 months. Ridiculous to claim "football reasons" for leaving him out.
Anyone who thinks Rio was left out due to form simply hasn't watched him play over the last 6 months.
How has captain Gerrard done over the last 6 months Big Ears? Finish 8th in the league and you're captain. Finish runner-up on goal diff and you don't deserve a place in the squad? You're a really bright guy.

Clown. How many trophies and CL finals has Rio helped us to in the last 5 seasons? Quite sure its a fact (rafa) that Terry made it harder for Chelsea in the CL.
I'm not arguing that Terry will always give everything, but I'd sure take Rio ahead of him based on everything - would your views on him change if he is a convicted racist? Wow how stupid the FA look then?!

Sorry, the CL this season as regards to Terry making it harder

Not one Manchester utd supporting contributor has mentioned Alex ferguson saying he doubts rio can play more than one game a week.
Wonder why that is... Wonder why rio didn't tweet whether he disagrees with that decision?
Also I don't think Rio did himself any favours by tweeting Harry Redknapp should get the England job.
