Does he have to give reasons? Did Carrick get a reason for not being picked, Adam Johnson? There's plenty of others. This is the problem with the golden generation. They all got too comfortable. We all know that it's because of his back problem and the rigorous fixtures of a tournament like this would take its toll.

Hodgson has done nothing wrong as far as i'm concerned.

Back Harry with a 2/3 extension and give us a few signings and I'm sure Harry n us the fans will go into the season looking forward to it.

Don't back him and don't get the signings we need then I believe we're be back fighting for 5/6/7 places again.

I think if he has no intention of keeping Harry on, he would already have a replacement lined up. if he intends to keep Harry then he has to give him an extension, and will back him financially

I dont mind which way it goes, providing the "new manager" is quality and has a budget to match - although i reckon it will be Harry, with a 2 year extension and about £20-30M to spend

And rio's omission had nothing to do with jt allegedly racially abusing his brother?

The risk is if jt gets convicted then England would have taken a player who committed a racial criminal offence (on the field of play) to the Euros whilst leaving the brother of the alleged victim at home for "footballing" reasons.

Ps I agree. Get new contract agreed with hr and get the the squad ready for next season ASAP

triffic - spot on ...although he hasnt been found guilty of anything, the FA saw enough in it to remove him as the England captain, then bewidleringly take him to the Euro's over the brother of the person he alledgedly abused, it really beggers belief.

Pps rio played 38 games for man u last season. Agree omissions of Johnson and carrick are head scratchers but rio must be down to the jt/ anton episode.

Of course there are lots of managers, most of them on decent deals which would mean lots of compensation
