It is a good idea to have a yellow card / red card system or temporary bans but i can see why the Admins haven't enforced it / looked into it, mainly due to it would take a hell of a lot of time & effort enforcing it and they're probably busy enough as it is

At present, our house rules state that you need to be 16 to use the site. Among other reasons, it means when we get a complaint along the lines of 'this is shocking, my 10 year old son read that and asked me what a dirty is,' we can just ban the complaining account.

An 18+ zone is a non-starter for a number of reasons. Technically the only way I can think of to prove somebody is 18 would be to take a 1 pence transaction from a credit card, which has numerous drawbacks associated with it.

I would also worry that it would be impossible to sandbox an 18+ area, in that any ill will generated by such an area would inevitably bleed out to the main forum.

Furthermore, you're effectively asking for an area where we endorse users being s to each other. Call me a dreamer, but I'd prefer we weren't s to each other, end of.
