Australia 6-9 Scotland

Did that really happen, or am I dreaming?

Don't care what piffle will come out about an experimental Aussie side, it will say in the papers tomorrow that Scotland beat Australia - in Australia.

Well done the Scots lads.

It was a strange game, the Aussies seemed to play the conditions better than the Scots which was a surprise but the Scots defence was epic.

Hi there and well done!

It was real Scottish conditions! I don't know why Scotland always seem to adapt to high wind and rain better than any other nation, but they alwasy seem to

It will be very interesting to see how they fair against - is it Fiji & Samoa? I have to say a few days ago I thought that Scotland might lose every game and it'll be fascinating to see how this impacts them - and likewise Wales & Australia - any thoughts anyone - and well done "Show" (if I can call you that) as our resident Scotland fan - what was your post win celebration? In a sad sort of way I hope it was the full haggis/Famous Grouse/Braveheart combo!!!

Good stuff all round!

On round ball 606 boards some call me tgbas, but my friends are permitted to call me Show. So you may refer to me as your own choice from the following, Theresgonnaebeashow, O Venerable One or Your Magnificence.

Seriously though, Show is the preferred short form of the monniker. I trust you know where it comes from.

Anyway, to the point. My post match celebration was a cup of tea, a pinch of the skin now and again to check I was awake, and a sumpuous meal from the chippy last night. I don't think I really believed it till I read it in the paper this morning.

Today I am working from home, and there are a few cheeky wee, half full bottles of single malt winking knowingly at me as we speak, so to speak.

I think their cheekiness will have to be sorted out later.

Ach, to hell with it. Why wait.

Slainte.

My post win

Huge congratulations to Scotland, I watched the 1&1/2 hr show on sky last night and they defended superbly. With their lack of form lately that result is huge and who knows, maybe that will be the only defeat this summer for the tri-nation sides.
I have to say though, that Aussie side looks alot weaker without the stars that won last years tri-nations. Wales must be feeling confident.

Is it just my imagination that Scotland adjust to a downpour much better than any other nation? I mean both sides in almost any game must be used to rain, so why is it when I think of real downpours that Scotland alwasy seem to prosper - admittedly most of the ones that come to mind were against England, but is it just selective (painful) memory?

Good luck with the malts!

On another topic, what are your SH tour predictions? I think its three games each isn't it (ignoring Presidents XV type games)

It's not your imagination. We grow up being drowned from above, so we're more used to it than most others. Our problems arise when some buqqer puts a big yellow ball in the sky.

Sorry if this upsets anyone but the AFU should be shot for allowing this game to take place.

Two days prep, a depleted team with Wales to come five days later. Chasing after the Aussie Doller has led to the cheapening of the Wallaby Jersey, heaped pressure unfairly on Robnie Deans and now also the team for the Wales game.

The IRU should consider taking test match status away from this game. It was in effect a Aus C team with no prep time. A joke I'm afraid!

Don't get me wrong I'm happy for the Scots who deserved more from the last WC but this is rugby not football. Rugby matches should not be meaningless friendlies!

It was as wrong a match as when SA flew out to wales for a one off test with a reserve team to commemorate the opening of the millennium stadium. Luckily SA one against all odds and maintain a record of one loss to Wales. A record of two losses for a proud record would've been terribly unfair. A record built over decades put at risk just to chase a buck?

Mwaahh

You may (or may not) have a point with the above, it will all be forgotten very quickly. The history books will just say that Scotland beat Australia - in Australia.
