Just hearing we've got Colin Calderwood as an assistant manager and with hotly looking to get out i was wondering what relationship Holty had with Calderwood. I know he left under him and i was wondering if he could possibly persuade Grant to stay..

They had a spat cos Calderdud kept playing him on the left wing. Some fans reckon that Grolt was a disruptive influence but I am having none of it. Some players are just glad to be on the pitch in any position but lets face it. Grolt is a Centre Forward who scores goals. At the time he was our best and Calderdud wanted rid as Grolts missus was expecting a baby.
Apart from that you got a good chance.

I should correct that to Calderdud wanted rid at the same time as Grolts missus was expecting. Grolt was absolutely livid as his family was settled in Nottingham.

I don't think Calderwood and Holt get on too well. Colin played him as a winger where he was ineffective, and eventually got rid of him because he didn't see his potential as a goal scorer. I doubt he'd want to suffer this fool again.

Houghton and Calderwood [CC] make a successfull managerial team. Lots of Red Dogs don't rate CC even after getting us promoted without spending a great deal. His successor Billy Davies on the otherhand was allowed to spend a fortune. Grolt and CC don't get on. It has been rumoured that Grolt hit him.
So I would say your leading scorer is definitly on his bike!

There were even rumours of a training ground dust up between them. It's safe to say they weren't on each other's Christmas card list. That shouldn't be a problem as Holt's off soon anyway isn't he?
