This week Manchester City negotiated a sponsorship package with the
official Abu Dhabi Airline.
It demonstrates clearly how clubs will be able to drive a 'coach and horses'
through the new UEFA Fair Play Regulations.
The Airline like many other major businesses in Abu Dhabi is owned by
the ruling family. That applies also I suspect to Manchester City as well.
Therefore I am sure we will find that many loss making clubs including Man City and Chelsea will find loopholes in these regulations in same way
as the super rich apply tax avoidance schemes.
Do you believe also that Real Madrid will reduce their spending in transfer
market? This club is constantly bust through their excesses, but are treated
as a National Institution by Spanish Government and Madrid Municipality
and then refinanced.
Similarly I believe it will be very difficult to monitor or regulate transfers
or wages being paid to footballers. The new rules may drive much of the
business dealings underground.

But I agree with what he said in principle (about the World Cup), so I want to help him in his hour of need.

If we move the subject away from Abu Dhabi a few hundred miles to Qatar then I'll join in the condemnation.

He's busy writing a piece on how the Abu Dhabi Royal Family are personally responsible for the decline of Pilot Whales in the South Atlantic because Uganda are hosting the 2016 Winter Olympics and the Eurovision Song Contest.
