Well the question is out there. What do you all think about it? Its been burning in my mind for quite a while. They are both important signings and could take our transition further but herein lies my problem: Who do you think will be more value for money? Hulk at 38 million or Modric at 27 million considering their positions?

Wow, lets give him a chance to play upfront and prove to us if he is any good or not. I love Torres, but how long has Torres had? 1.5 seasons, yet he hasn't proved much.
Some people think running around chasing the ball makes you a brilliant player, if that was the case Scot Parker would be world class.
Torres has absolutely no excuse next season if he flops, Sturridge has yet to be give a chance in his natural position.

Modric at 27mil is the better value for money deal - and the addition of Modric i believe would make the greater difference to our playing mentality. Though Hulk at this moment is more necessary to us and in this period more unique in the market.
Still, under those presumptions, Modric for me

Scoring goals at a poor Bolton side, and then coming back to us and still scoring out of position, you still don't think he has earned be given a chance in his position? He has been treated unfairly compared to Torres, I really do hope Torres regains his form, but if he doesn't deliver at the start of next season, Sturridge should be striker.
The reason why Torres has been working so hard for the team is because his form in front of goal has been abysmal. You may think him passing to Meireles in that Leicester game was great, but to me that showed a striker who is still lacking in confidence, that strong greedy character he had at Liverpool is gone.

Gazza wrote : "On top of that he has shown few qualities of a central striker. He avoids physical contact, he doesn't try and help out his teammates, his movement off the ball is poor and he can't hold the ball up. And he often bottles finishes when it matters."
This is a veryperceptive view of which i definately agree with. The guy lacks backbone.

Well we will see next season. If Sturidge doesn't get his chance up front, if I was him I will definitely leave. Too much talent, confidence, and ambition to be wasted.
Hulk is a great player, not that great up front, but he is the much more talented and physical version of Sturridge, that tracks back.

Torres will be a much better bet to hit goal-scoring form at CF in the coming season. His all round game is much better than Studge. He'll be a deadlier finisher once more with his confidence back.
Danny with all his self-confidence has not turned that into convincing displays either on his own behalf or for the team. He had golden opportunity to establish himself last season as a fully fledged team player - but blew it. Preferring to whine about playing out of position. Welbeck has now taken up where Danny should be.
Come on Danny - grow up!
