Players sign, bid accepted and 11-0

Two of the trialists have signed Atiku and Risser (Gary Rose already rates quite highly). we had a bid accepted for the 45 goal striker Adam Birchall but as I type this AFC Wimbledon have also have a bid accepted. For me easy decision, Promotion pusher and Legendary striker as Manager, but whoever gives more wages will get him. and we Trashed Norcia XI 11-0 obviously a poor poor side. With Devera, Smith, De Vita , Bodin (2), Kennedy, Ritchie, Risser, Kennedy, Ferry and Amankwaah all scoring

Thoughts?

Seems strange how it has always been difficult for us to sign strikers, I know good strikers are hard to come by but with no disrespect to other league two teams meant, we are supposed to be one of the bigger clubs and one of the favourites for promotion. Most wish lists as far as I am concerned start with the best at the top and then you work your way down, don't know how long Paolo's list is but having missed out on two or three players already I hope a few more better strikers become available in the near future.

Notts,
We had the same situation last year. It was never resolved.
But we had Austin then. We panicked into signing Dossevi at the last minute, we still had Pericarp, who flattered to deceive in pre-season. So no-one did anything. Then when Austin went, we were in serious trouble.
We bought Benyon, who had scored goals in Div 2, but he got injured - more panic!
Now we send him off on a season loan without a replacement.
I can't fathom the thinking behind this.
Strikers are valuable people. If you can't get a good one signed early, you are left with the dregs.
However, that's the English market, I just hope that PDC has others in mind.

Think it would be more reassuring if we could find a striker we new something about. Paolo has the benefit of the Italian leagues to scan so is probably less concerned than most. Don't think PDC is the type of manager to rush into a panic signings but think he needs to be careful in waiting for the perfect player, like you said Gollum a fair few good strikers have already been signed up by rivals.

Hi all, first post on the new 606! Used to post fairly regular before..
Anywho back on topic, I dont think we should panicking about the striker situation just yet. Maybe if in two weeks there are no new strikers we should be pushing the panic button! But until then lets all relax and let the Paolo do the buisness.

By the time we face Crewe i'm sure we'll be ready! - COYR'S

Hi motherbear, glad your coming across. I'm not in panic mode myself but know a lot who are. It was a shame Paolo couldn't get a couple of strikers before the tour as it sounds as if progress was made with fitness and game time, even against poor opponents. Now they are returning I'm sure Paolo and the board will be spending every spare minute trying to get these required strikers in.

Thanks for the welcome back guys! Good to see some familiar posters on here... do any of the ol' veterans like Mondeaux ect still post on here?

Mother bear, it has been fairly quite on here to be honest with just a handful of us posting regularly. Would imagine it will start to pick up now the season is nearly upon us.can't recall Mondeaux posting to date but may well be under a new user name? Some interesting comments on Esajas on the owls board, been very friendly towards me too ! Hope tomorrow brings us some better news regarding strikers, won't be setting the alarm clock though !

MB,
New season, new crew, some old gits like me have arrived.
I hope that some of the old 606ers might find us.
But, if not, I am sure that we can manage!
