Okay so we sell Arshavin

As most of you want and then who in our current team replaces him....Gervinho (always flatters to deceive & blows more ice cold than lukewarm, not to talk of hot), the Ox (imo & in wenger's too, isnt ready to play a whole season for us and deliver consistently) or ramsey (the less said the better)

Its obvious that we still need Arshavin becos the only decent replacement we have is Podolski. We are club without much spending power so its wise if we kept the few decent players we have rather than sell them.

Its baffling to hear fans criticise Arshavin's performances at the Euros and demand he gets transfered when we have players like Diaby and Ramsey, utterly average & useless players, who dont get any mentions.

We are a club that has fans always looking a gift horse in the mouth.

Gervinho has just had his first season in the pl, i'm sure he'll improve.

And while Arshavin can play well for 60 mins per game in the Euro's against minnows with average defenses in a less physical environment, does that mean he can suddenly start playing well again in a highly physical (players can go hard into tackles in the PL unlike international etc), high tempo environment, where the defenses are better drilled?

And where he is expected to track back so as to not expose us to 2 vs 1 situations at the back on the flank?

Your article makes no sense, if Arshavin was playing really well for us then okay but the fact Gerv, Ox and Walcott were all better than him last season. As well as the obvious fact that even if Arshavin was playing well Podolski would be as good a replacement as anyone.

why would we want to keep a fat lazy under achieving wastrel like Arshavin.

One of wengers biggest flops. Talent without effort is of no use to us

This Arshavin love in is beyond a joke. People forget the countless games where he twaddles around doing nothing. In fact I recall a game where he was warming up on the sidelines and he couldn't even be bothered to do that properly.

It's no coincidence that we started to win games soon after he left

No. We started winning games once Ramsey was dropped.

Ramsey is not useless, being in poor form/lacking confidence and being useless are two completely different things. There will be a time when you thank Wenger for getting him before United did. As for Gervinho, he's shown that he can be a threat, now he need to work on shooting for the entire off-season and he'll be better next season. And we have Podolski now anyway, so why can't Podolski replace him? He'll score more goals than Arshavin.

Arshavin is lazy, inconsistent and ageing, we might as well cash in while he's playing well for Russia and still has some value.

Once the fat lazy russian was shipped out the work ethic in the team picked up.

Ramsey's form had nothing to do with lack of effort but probably fatigue in his first full season.

Arshavin was a social loafer and his attitude infected the rest of the team.....

Once he realised we weren't paying his taxes he stopped playing
