There was a stat somebody told me about this morning:

After 55 minutes Xabi Alonso had completed more passes than the whole of the Irish team - a staggering 106!!!

I hope they get to play England in the QFinals

England would give them more of a game but Spain are the best international team I have ever seen! Whatever team beats them will win the Euros!

England v Spain would be like Chelsea v Barca at international stage. If England defended like they did v France, against Spain, they wouldn't even get out of their own half.

The only team capable of beating them is Germany, but they have been beaten in last two tournaments by Spain, and mentally that could be Germany's fall down.

Not only the best team ever, but the best squad ever.

I've watched every team in the Euros so far with interest and no one has a patch on the Spaniards.

I thought they'd be jaded and indifferent after a long season with Barca and Real Madrid and so much success already, but clearly not, they've just got too many world class players all over the pitch!

Best of luck to England if they play them in the QFs, but if I was Roy Hodgson I'd be doing my best to finish top of that group so that they can play the runners up Italy/Croatia instead..

Germany wouldn't even get close to Spain if their performance against the Dutch is anything to go by...

Holland should have been 2-0 up after 15minutes.

Spain were good but Ireland didn't seem to have a plan at all.

The first few minutes Duff was shouting at Cox to stop pressing the Spanish defence, as if the plan was to only press when they were in our final third...........but half the team were pressing full pitch.

We matched ourselves up all wrong too.

Cox should have been hassling Busquets & Alonso with Andrews & Whelan protecting Dunne & St ledger by keeping tracks on Xavi & co.

Instead Andrews & Whelan were on Alonso & Busquets & there was a massive gap between them & Dunne & St ledger..........the space where Xavi, Silva & Iniesta love to play

Top priority should have been to keep those 3 quiet not just allow them the space to do what they like.

It was always going to be a struggle but just thought we didn't turn up tactically to even make a match of it.

The most annoying thing was how they seem to have adopted the Rugby style point when they pick up a man
