What do you guys think will be your next formation against Ukraine?
Welbeck up top with Rooney just behind him? Then Ashley Young on the left wing and Wallcott on the right?
Wallcott --------- Gerrard ---------- A.Young
-------------------- Rooney
------------------- Welbeck
Then Parker sitting infront on the defence so Gerrard can go forward. Your defence was pretty bad in conceding those two goals the other night.
----------------------- Hart
Johnson ----- Terry ----- Lescott ------ A.Cole
--------------------- Parker
You's really want to win the group btw as the runners up face Spain (most likely) in the 1/4's

Walcott will not make the same impact starting.

Have some faith! Everyone was saying that he'd make no impact at all. No-one wants to be an impact substitute. He has been really good for Arsenal all season starting games so he deserves to start against Ukraine and their uber-slow defenders.
The side stated by the OP would destroy the Ukraine. They were so poor against France it's laughable and they're their for the taking. We should do all we can to avoid Spain until we've ironed out all the creases in the side so we need to pick a team that can score goals as goal difference will come into it.

Beat if Gerard stays back. If he gets too far forward he might be forced to make a short pass

Doesn't matter if we get Spain, assuming we go through of course, because you have to play these sides eventually anyway.
We aren't going to win it. We all know it. So we have absolutely nothing to lose. No pressure on us at all.
Get the job done on Tuesday first and then Bring on the Spanish, I say. They are certainly better than us but defo not unbeatable as we proved in the recent friendly. Also without Villa they aren't quite as clinical in my opinion.
And Mourinho was right in the press this morning. Spain are not Barca. They don't have the Messi Factor. We are more than capable of beating them again by frustrating them and targeting their weakness in the air.

I do think England can beat Spain but i'd rather play them when we have built up more of a head of steam. If we win the group we're likely to play Italy which is a very winnable game and then Germany. If we can somehow get past them we'll have more momentum going into a game against Spain then if we were to play them in 6 days.

Can't think of a better team with what available to us...

France will win the group. They have a 1 goal head start and are playing the weakest team in the group who are already out.
Our only shot is second place realistically. Ukraine infront of their fans will be tougher for us. But I reckon we will get the draw we need at least.
I don't care what happens from there. 1/4 finals should be seen as success for Woy's England. Something to build on.
I don't fear Spain as an ENG fan as I fear Barca as a UTD fan. They are a hugely talented side but they are just not as ruthless and clinical as Barca are.
It wouldn't be pretty but we could beat them the boring way, just like we did a few months ago.
The Germans would beat us though.

This is true. Barcelona also missed him. He is a quality finisher, even playing in from the left wing for Spain.
