Administration began in February, and for over 3 months there were plenty of opportunities for would-be buyers to throw their hats into the ring. The last man standing was Charles Green, which may or may not be to every Rangers fan's liking, but there you go--that's what happens when you feck everyone over, from Dunfermline FC to HMRC. Throughout the whole process, Wattie kept his own counsel, aware perhaps that his winemaking buddy would soon be dragged into the whole shambles and rightly held up as the man who did all the real damage at Rangers. And of course if the beknighted one could be turned into a figure of public disgrace, who would be next? Maybe the man who spent all that money, and who also may or may not have benefited from the dodgy financial practices at Cheats FC.
So Wattie kept quiet, save for one or 2 comments about how that nasty man Whytey tricked his good friend, the upstanding Mr Murray.
Until now.
Now that resolution seems in sight, Wattie hitches up his trusty white steed, and tries a rescue.
There's only one problem.
The club is now owned by others. But these aren't 'Rangers minded' people, so they'll have to go, thinks Wattie.
How will it be done?
I know, what about turning thousands of Rangers fans loose on the streets of Glasgow next week. That might do it. Such will be the bile and hatred directed towards Charles Green, that he'll have to go. A low move, some might say, and one that might result in dangerous levels of venom being spouted at someone who has played by the rules.
But then Wattie will be back, where he belongs, so who cares about the methods? And as for Mr Green, well who cares about him?
Smith may not have organised next week's hate-fest, but he sure as hell isn't opposing it.
Yep, you're a class act Wattie--a real man of integrity.
Wattie- man of integrity

The man went down in my estimation last week.
Wait until you are absolutely sure you do not need to pay back the people you owe, then try to buy the carcass.
Then tell the man who had the guts to liquidate the club to 'step aside'.
Smith has a team of hagiographers in the media though. The man can do no wrong in their eyes.
And he still hasn't answered Thomson about the EBT allegations while he was at Everton and Scotland.
If the EBT thing is true, he will not pass the fit and proper person test.

Close to £100m Wattie spent...yet nothing, not an obtuse angle to be squared at, OOR WALTER.
Ps,
Mr.Salmond, can you please tell the COS to deliver their verdict, you've had them stall on it for two months
