As per the fixture list there are to be 11 named clubs and Team 12 competing in next seasons SPL.
Can someone advise me what the criteria is for a new club (Team 12) to be admitted to the SPL and be granted an SPL licence
1. Promoted from Division 1
2. Not relegated.
3. Ground Capacity / Facilities
4. Audited accounts (for how long)
5. What penalties can the SPL impose on any new club gaining entry.
6. Which clubs could Team 12 be (and why)
On a side note - was the Sky deal dependent on neither of the Old Firm being relegated?
Entry to SPL

Starting from the end:
No, SKY cannot be seen to be fixing or determining the outcome of a competition.
Team 12 could be either Dunfermline or Dundee.
A new club gaining direct entry is unprecedented, therefore there are no defined penallties as yet. It has still to be decided.
UEFA demand 3 years of accounts.they don't recognize new clubs immediately. The SFA or the SPL don't seem to have the same criteria.
Ground capacity! Ross County are getting promoted FFS.
Dunfermline
Dundee

Hi Pete
This is currently under discussion by the SPL chairmen. They could bring in a Rangers 'newco', the team that has century been relegated from the SPL (Dumfermline) or the team that finished second in the First Division (Dundee).
I understand the audited accounts restrictions is from UEFA and thus only covers European competition. I think there are 18 different penalties that could be imposed on a club, but you would have to read the SPL disciplinary procedures for that.
I understand there is used to be restrictions of a minimum of 10000 seats to be an SPL team, that is not the case any more I think.
