Does anyone else wonder sometimes when a player is out injured for an extremely long time with an injury that shouldn't really take so long to heal that it could be the club covering up a failed drug test or an in house drugs test that they know the player will fail so they get him out of the way of the media?
I know it sounds far fetched but given the amount of money these players earn and the fact that drugs are probably widespread at most of the nightclubs/parties that the players go to I don't think it's too crazy to think that some players may dabble in such things.
There are rumours floating around about certain players who may have failed drugs tests and I would like to say for legal reasons that I have no reason to believe any of that and I genuineley feel sorry for the player if these rumours turn out to be false and I'd like people on this thread to avoid naming names but surely it's not outside the realms of possibility that a big name footballer of two in the past 10 years has failed a drugs test and had it covered up?
What do you think?

I deleted them because it was just a bunch of random names and i'm not sure what my responsibilities are as a guy who did the post.
Plus the comments didn't add anything to the debate! No offence guys.

Yes some drug bans are covered up by "injuries".
There is no legal responsibility for the FA, PL or the independent testers to release names of players who fail a drugs test.
The idea that a club may put a player on the injury list because he has failed an in-house drugs test is wrong. Any player can be tested, whether they are fit or not. For instance, Jack Wilshere has been out injured all season but this doesn't mean he is immune to testing. It is random choices of every registered player at a club. This means when tests are carried out away from an after match test it is not neccessarily first team players who are tested, nor just the fit players.
As for the media, they know a lot more than they publish. Not just regarding drug use, but a lot of other things as well. Most of it is unworthy of reporting as players involved are not household names. Some is swept under the carpet to keep relations with clubs and players in tact so they get other news, and of course there are legal issues.

I was in Ibiza a few years back and a certain English international footballer was there with all his mates staying in the same hotel as me and my mates. His boys were openly snorting all sorts around the pool, but the footballer was very careful. I never saw him take anything, but he looked as hammered as his mates, was gurning like a trooper and sure as hell make a lot of quick trips up to his room.

For taking performance enhancing drugs.. yes players should get tested for that.....but they shouldn't get tested for recreational drugs, no one should. What players or the everyday Joe does in their own time is F.all to do with anyone else. Crazy how a stranger can dictate what someone they don't even know can take or not take. Society is totally F''ed up!!
