I wonder if Blatter and Platini arranged this after England were drawn into group four?

I don't like being a harbinger of doom, but on this afternoon's display ( wew are 6 hours behind), even if we beat Italy, which is possible, I don't give us a cat in hell's chance against our German friends.

I think we've got a good shot at them, assuming we do get past Italy.

Yes, they knocked in 4 past Greece, but they also conceded 2.

That means that they do have weaknesses, albeit ones that have been outweighed by their strengths so far.

And I think England have more of a chance of exposing those weaknesses than Greece did.

If we play like we did against Sweden (without the 10-minute brain fade), staying disciplined at the back and positive going forward, then I think we can take them on.

I'm not saying we will win it, I'm just saying that we can.

But, like I said earlier, this does still all depend on whether or not we can get past Italy.

I agree, but as Ian Darke said on ESPN, they have the ability to make defensive errors by scoring more than they conceed. Maybe if we, again if we get through Italy, get a 2-0 lead then we can shut up shop. If we try to defend a 1-0 or , even worse go behind then I think they will take us to the cleaners.
