Matt Paterson on Loan for US Trip

Hi U's,

I see that young Matt Paterson is flying out with you to the US for your pre-season tour today.

Matt has had a horrendous time at Southend. A mixture of circumstance and beligerance from the club. He was not a Paul Sturrock signing so has not had the pitch time he deserves and allegedly his contract is such that Southend don't pay him on time and to make matters worse for the lad, the manager played his son Blair in his position for the majority of the season!

Matt is still young at 21 and is without a doubt a very good footballer. Give him time and allow him to play and I am sure he will be a huge asset for you, he knows where the back of the net is!

If there's any Oxford fans out there that can let us know how he's getting on it would be appreciated.
