He's signed for stoke.
Will it mean a free bed at the infirmary or will it mean we let in more goals?
No Woodgate

Free bed at the infirmary.
This is a signing I'm glad we haven't made. If Stoke get more than ten games out of him, I'll be surprised.

Good deal for Stoke, as when he's fit he's as good as any defender around and being a pay as you play deal it's worth the gamble.

The man's a good player but also a crock. He would disrupt the 1st team selection too often............not good!
Agree with Dunge.

This from the Guardian’s excellent “Fiver” email today -
“Stoke have signed free-agent occasional footballer Jonathan Woodgate on a one-year deal. "We believe that if his fitness is managed properly, he will play games for us," mumbled Tony Pulis, while trying to find out just what in the hell a deep inguinal ring is.”
NB. The deep inguinal ring, as any fule know, is the entrance to the inguinal canal, the passage in the anterior abdominal wall which in men conveys the spermatic cord and in women the round ligament. Much more on Wikipedia, but not for those of a sensitive disposition.
