I am afraid xie that club loyalties do not just affect Terry. The same applies to Gerrard.

People will realise just how good Terry is when he retires and the English defence will never be as good as it was..

In Spain, we always rate Terry so much more than you do in England and we always talk about his passing ability and two footedness. He is undoubtedly the closest England has to world class.
He reminds me of the great Italian defenders. They too were not blessed with pace but they read the game so well, were fantastic tacklers and somehow managed to block so many shots. Pace is not the most important part of defending despite what you often read on these boards.

You've summed him up perfectly here. He's even underrated by our own fans at times.
His passing with both feet is remarkable. So reliable and accurate.
it's funny how alot of England fans overrate and call players world class wrongly but under appreciate Terry.

This is very true, I was not a big fan of Tony Adams and never really started to appreciate just how good he was until near the end of his career.

Football fans are a mixed bunch as in life. Some are very knowledgeable, some just don’t have a clue and everything in between. What annoys me though are footballing clichés which some fans predictably revert to, judge a player by what they do, not what you’d imagine they might do.
What I am getting at is JTs overall game, not just his tackling and blocking and heading but him as a footballer, the ball at his feet, his distribution and vision. Just because he’s a player who puts him self about a bit you get some many lazy idiots who just assume he’s not a good distributor of a ball. He’s clearly England’s best defender, he’s also probably the best footballer out of the centre half’s too.

I can't stand the guy and i can't stand chelsea but even i can deny this. John Terry is world class and anyone who dosen't think this clearly know nothing about football.

JT - outstanding
Cole - outstanding (minus the pen)

Hart - Very good
Rooney - was at his best during his two banned games
Young - awful
Milner - embarrasingly awful
In general the national pessimism was about right
