We avoided the embarrassment at least!!

Gutted that we went out on penalties yet again, even more gutted with the shocking and spineless performances from most of the team but there is one silver lining!!

If we had fluked our way through to the semi-finals against Germany then we would of got well and truly embarrassed! So stop with the doom and gloom and revel in the joy of not having to put up with a mauling from the Germans!

Remember England are still the 6th best side in the world (according to FIFA), now stand back while i laugh myself to death....

The Germans would've just rested the other eight players who didn't get a rest in the quarter final.

Seriously, how are we 6th?! We are nothing more than a quarter-final side at best

.................

Exactly.

I had no expectations from England what so ever in this tournament, and anyone who did, really doesn't understand football, as far as I am concerned.

Getting to the QF's was a bonus in the first place.

Now I hope Roy gets rid of the old guard for good and brings in the next generation.

No more Parkers, Milners, Downings, Barry's etc. If Rooney is ever going to perform again on the International stage we really need some creative players around him, not work horses.

And if we can't find them, then there is no point in Rooney playing.

We're not even the 6th best team in Europe, never mind the cream of South America

---------------

its simple, 4 teams make the semi's, and if on ranking they would be the top 4 teams in the world.
that leaves the other quarter finalists making up the remaining top ten or so

the most recent rankings are;
1st Spain
2nd Uruguay
3rd Germany
4th Holland
5th Brazil
6th England

So according to FIFA were better than Argentina, France, Italy, Russia and Portugal to name but a few..

If Manchester United did beers... England to beat Spain on pens to win the Euros! (U6827)

It's laughable, isn't it?

Avoided the embarrassment? I know what you are trying to say, but watching from behind my sofa for a couple of the weeks I saw Hodgson make us an international embarrassment by taking England even further back into the dark ages.

OK it could have got worse, but that's like saying I've got cancer, but I could have got pneumonia as well.
