My god if Rooney is listening to talksport now and read the forums he may just say......I don't need this and just quit England! Granted not best but he did score the winner to get England through and top which is the main purpose of a forward........what the hell does the durham plank actually expect, Rooney is a very good player and that's all, he isn't ronaldo or messi ffs!!!!!

He put in 2 very poor performances. Of course he should be criticised.

Valencia, Carrick, Scholes, Nani

as good as these players are they're hardly Ronaldo and Messi are they?
Its not just Rooney but many England players never reproduce their club form at international level. How come? Not sure, it’s a bit of a mystery. Maybe its nerves, expectations or maybe they don’t get on with each other….who knows?

Spurtle, it's right to get criticised but it's always over the top with Rooney because of who he plays for. But he was no where near the worse player and he only played twice and actually scored.....something the Rooney haters have forgotten. I wonder if he still played for everton he would get the same level of abuse.......I think we all know the answer to that one!

Salford - Don't be paranoid. It's nothing to do with who he plays for. It's to do with how well he plays. If the criticism seems great it's because we know he's a better player than what we saw of him yesterday.

Rubbish! Rooney gets slated because England need a scape goat and each time it's him! He wouldn't get this abuse and that's what it is abuse not football criticism, if he was playing for everton! Look at at beckham dogs abuse while at united but lived when at real.....it's the way we are in England, we hate other clubs too much

Rooney gets slated because he's fat, foul mouthed and has a dead rat glued to the top of his head.
He's quite a good footballer though.

He scored a tap in that anyone else including joe hart could've scored?
Why about the chance he missed yesterday? Or his lack of speed when put through by Gerrard v Ukraine?
Basically were it not for walcotts deflected goal and the goal line official getting it wrong we would have come home a few days earlier.
Rooney did nothing exceptional to live up to his hype in the two games he played. Despite being fresher than anyone else.

He was poor, but our main problem was we had no midfield, when we had the ball it went from hart to the attack, we'd win the first header but lose the second ball. And they'd come back at us time after time

Rooney pulled on the England shirt then strolled around the pitch like he wasnt interested. Not trying is unforgivable, and I dont care who he plays for, why do utd fans take it like a personal insult when their players get justified criticism? grow up, he doesnt care a jot for England OR Man Utd ( he held you to ransom remember? ) he just wants the money and all the attention, get over it.

Tyke if you think he wasn't trying then you ate an idiot, played poorly but worked his rollocks off, as in every game!!!
