1. The De Rossi strike that hit the woodwork was preventable. What was Milner doing on the edge of the area marking nobody when he should have been out wide? His poor positional play meant Cole was drawn out and the ball played in behind to Marchisio who cut it back to De Rossi.
2. A ball played over Ashley Cole's head by Pirlo for an Italian player to head across for Balotelli. Ashley Cole was asleep and failed to realise that anybody was even behind him.
3. Hart looked like a buffoon in the penalty shoot out. He failed to save a single penalty. Most notably, Balotelli is his team mate, who looked in the direction he was going to shoot, yet Hart still failed to get near it. Pirlo made Hart look like a right fool and the final penalty was definitely saveable. So much for his tongue out antics and studying penalty takers.
4. Both Young and Cole even failed to look at the goal prior to taking their penalties, which can't be a good idea. Surely you have to look at the goal to see the goalkeeper's position and to determine where you are going to shoot.

1. DeRossi's shot was sliced worse than a learner golfers driver and could have gone anywhere.
2.The incident you refer to was simply down to the quality of the free kick by Pirlo to the far post, very difficult to defend against.
3.Balotelli's penalty was hit like a tracer bullet into the bottom corner and was totally unsaveable.
Even though they practice together i bet Balotelli can put them in either corner just as well.
If Hart had stood still for Pirlo's penalty then Pirlo would have slotted it into a corner.
He just waited for Hart to make his move and clipped the ball in. Great skill - no blame on Hart.
As for the last pen being saveable - well they all are if the keeper guesses the right way and gets in the way of the shot..
4. You are at least correct about Young, he didnt look at the goal because he didnt want Buffon to eyeball him.
However he didnt need to look at the goal to see what the keepers position would be, he always stands in the middle of the goal.
