TBH Ezio, I get the feeling that Butterfield thinks he can be a big fish in a bigger pond, and I would hate to see him disappear into oblivion.

The bottom line is that he's crocked and very few clubs will take a chance on someone with a bad injury unless they have seen proof of outstanding talent.

The problem lies with the fact that Butterfield had a couple of seasons of drifting in and out, but last season started to hit some good form. However, it will have been too late in the day for as many big clubs to have noticed as he would have liked.

KH is right; Butterfield should have stayed another season and regained that form, then he would have been guaranteed a big money move.

As it stands he's in the wilderness; nobody is prepared to take a chance on him by the looks of it, and our fans will be hostile towards him if he stays for his lack of dedication and appreciation for the club that made him the player he is.

Not a good scenario; I blame the stupid agents...

Butterfield, for some reason, has always had a good number of detractors down t'Well, mainly the Burberry wearing knuckle draggers who wouldn't recognise a decent footballer if kicked in the gonads by one.

If he re-signed and hit form the majority of us wouldn't give a flying sheeite about contract negotiations....Agree with madrush...has the stench of amoney sucking agent all over it.

Whilst I have an open mind on the should-he-shouldn't-he be offered another contract debate I do feel that if the should-he lobby prevails a new Contract should surely be for more than a year. With the nature of the injury he sustained and the period of time he has been out of the game it will probably close to the end of next season, if at all, before he recovers his pre-injury form by which time he could be off to pastures new..

OK, if, say, he signs for two years he could still want to be off this time next year but at least the Club would be in a position to command a decent fee.

My mate (yes I know, I know) has just texted me saying he's seen him at "Conley" (Norwich's training ground) apparently having a medical. Probably bowlocks but thought I would share seeing as there's been no update on his situation since a couple of days back.

Looks like we aren't too happy with the offer to pay us off from Norwich
